Home (Bitter) Sweet Home…

We were in the car driving home from the airport today and it actually hit me, the best trip of my life was coming to a close. I’m not crazy, I realize all good things must come to an end but it was hard to let go this time. For almost 3 weeks I’ve been traveling around the British Isles and Ireland taking photographs. It’s hard to fully express in words the experience of this trip but I’ll share some of the bullet points now until I get all of the photos edited.

18 Days. 4 Countries. 9 cities. Lots of day trips. Mountains hiked. Rained everyday, but never ruined anything. Planes, trains, buses, ferries and a car. Countless miles walked. Dogs, cats, horses, sheep and a pheasant. Walked past Bono on the street in Dublin. Went to 7 beaches and I’m the only asshole to get sunburned twice in Ireland. Beef Bolognese took on a whole new meaning. Learned to swear in Welsh. Learned to swear in Manx but already forgot. Tried not to do tourist stuff but still ate at the pub where The Beatles played in Liverpool. Lots of Guinness. Lots of Jameson. A few sunrises. A few sunsets. 52GB of photos taken. Over 25 portraits. Lots of friends, old and new. Best travel partner/navigator ever (Rosey). Learned that when people say ‘Ya can’t miss it’… I can. So much fish and chips. Shot out on the burren when it was completely empty. Got tattooed. Drank lots of coffee. Stopped at every candy shop with Rosey.

More to come when the photos are finished.

I’m completely shot right now. But I made it home safe and sound.

Coney Island Spring Gala

Last week was the Coney Island Spring Gala at Webster Hall. There really aren’t many ways to describe this experience other then a creativity overload. I can’t think of the last time that I was in a room with so many amazing performers, artists, storytellers, musicians, Mermaids, photographers, and so much more. I’m not going to waste time by telling you how much fun this was b/c it will drive you nuts. Let the photos do the talking. Click through for a preview of the images.
